"Sawatdee Khrab!" to Paradise! - THE STORY

Day 1Phuket Island 29th April 2007

The day was fine with the hot sun blazing above my tiny head while walking my way to depart from KL on Fight AK ### to Phuket Island, Thailand. I felt excited about the whole trip since morning, planned the trip since half a century ago (*BS-ting - 1/2 year ago), I would just hope the weather will be the same in Thailand right now.

The day kicked off when I woke up just in time to catch my bus shuttle to LCCT ( Low Cost Carrier Terminal ) – correct? Correct me if I am wrong. I was to be there at 10:30am sharp and my flight is schedule to be at 12:45pm noon. Oh well, I didn’t had my breakfast or anything so I took some chocolates instead and a packet of “RA-B-NA”… (doesn’t know how to spell – fruit juice) couldn’t find any mineral water to buy and so… I bought that.

Apparently, I took a camera with me. A humble canon IXSUS digital camera with just 512MB of memory in it BUT.. I brought my laptop with me to transfer the picture in case of overloaded.

I just loved beaches and hot sun above my head, burning every skin cells on the surface of my skin. Just kidding, I brought sun block with me or else I’ll be malaysian ikan masin on the beach of Thailand that very instant.

12:45pm – AK ####

So it was as usual, everyone lining up to for boarding, it just reminds me of “Pudu Bus Terminal” where sits are “FREE FOR ALL”! after you purchased the ticket of cause. Everyone wanted to get the best sits and there is no exceptions for me too >.<>

Luckily, theres no delay for my flight. I took off from malaysia soil at approximately 1245pm!

The trip lasted 1 hour and more, could'nt figure out how long does it takes, didn’t bother to ask or looked at the watch. Apparently, time in thailand is one hour behind malaysia time.

It is gonna be exciting I guess since it is my first time to Phuket Island. I am expecting this trip to be a relaxing and a time off for myself before all hell break lose again once I return to KL.

Wouldn’t it be great just to stay near the beach and have all the time in the world to yourself and enjoyed it with your loved ones? I guess I would like it. Enjoying the bit of sea breeze gashing through my cheeks and the evening sun set accompanying the ambience around me and with the sound of the wave hitting on the cushion soft sand echoes smoothing melody to my ear and as I leave my own set of footprint on the beach and it slowly dissolve the imprint together with water and sand…

To think of it, it takes effort and hardship to make your mark in this society, to leave your footprint in everything. Sometimes to leave a footprint in a person’s heart is the hardest. What says you?

The Touch Down – 3:00pm (MY time), 2:00pm (THAI time)

Finally we reach Phuket Island International Airport. Well, I am kinda lost to be frank. Ahahaha… later after leaving the terminal building we are welcomed by our tourist guide and tour leader. We boarded our “BUS PERSIARAN” ( Tour Bus ) – Pinkest bus - aha!

We had 2 groups, I belonged to group A which comprises of nearly 30 persons and most of them are married couples. We had a very interesting and erm… gorgeous… pretty? Tour guide… well, in Thailand, they called them “BONDAN”, we call them the same in Malaysia, but I rather call them the “SHE-MALE”. She-he is very out-going and knowledgeable person, being able to speak, English, Thai, Malay, Chinese & French. Only one word to describes her “ FOO YOH!”. Hahaha~

Inside the menu of day 1 program, there's isn’t much because the flight to Phuket already took half of our day of the 24 hour chart. After depart from the airport, we head straight to Southern of Phuket to visit a recreational park. The weather ain’t that good, the sky was filled with heavy grey clouds ready to sprinkle the day off and so we headed there ASAP.

The welcome sign board... don't know what it means but i guess it spells "Southern of Phuket" to me >.<

Is another of the tourist attraction area, we saw lots of Korean and Japanese visiting the place! Everyone of my group were shouting “ YAMATE” from the bus window! Ahahaha~ jokingly that’s not true. >.<>

Scenery 1

Some building located there, I guess is some monument building of all days. I did'nt get much explanation from my tour guide, I guess she-he is courting some hunk from my group. haha~

Scenery 2

Just me >.<

Soon after the visit to the Southern of Thailand, it started to rain. We headed straight to our hotel, Royal Paradise Hotel – Patong Beach. The place is filled with foreigners. I am one of them ^.^ ahaha.. we checked in the hotel at approximately 5:00pm.

Dinning Time~ 6:30pm

We had our first Thailand Tom Yam at approximately 7:00pm. It was fulfilling except for the part that the Tom Yam is kinda hot to drink. The food was great in all! I didn’t took any picture of the food cause I am darn hungry! I was eating like a buffalo!

YES, the discussion is on for shows and program later at night and the following night because in our program, night time is free and easy so everyone is busy looking for entertainment, our tour guide is our source to most of the request! The entertainment is not cheap regardless of the currency exchange! Ahaha~

We paid and we proceed to our destination next after the dinner…

TOM YAM SHOW?!

It is hot, it is instant, it is said to be deadly for people with hearts problem, 18SX? 18SG? And it just lasted for an hour only!!! For 800 baht! = RM 80.00.

Tom Yam show = Erotic Show ( Harimau Presentation = Tiger Show )

p/s: no camera/camcorder allowed so no picture gonna publish here >.<

Around 15 persons went for the Tom yam show, and the other half went for the SHE-MALE beauty pageant show & a small portion of them went to look for their own entertainment. I can say you can get anything in Thailand these days~ ANYTHING~ ahaha~ even your widest dream can be fulfilled! Well, someone experienced and told me so…

Bangla Street
at 12:00 am

Around 12:00am after the show, we headed off to the famous street of Patong Beach called “Bangla Street”, it is called Bangla because it use to be lots of BangladeshEsSSSss staying at that particular area but now it already a famous place for people to club and do some other things >.<

After the heavy down pour - crowds starting to fill the street again

Anyone saw poles? >.<

One of the nice pub I reckon

Too hot for me.

3 dudes~

Sorry, the picture too small to notice chicks at the entrance, click to enlarge ^_^

Here's something up close and personal

GrRrrrRRRRrrRrRrRrrrrr~

Hunger creeps into the picture after an hour of walk browsing through the menu on the street. Kekeke~ so our next quest is to look for foods. Local delicacies? Hahaha~

Yes, bananaSss! There's no banana in there but only a place to club till 2am! Food where are you?!

Fish anyone? No... no one agree to that~

Yesh~! This gonna be one hell of a SUPPER~

Could'nt afford it- too bad = 250 baht EQ to RM 25.00 per 100g

Omg! Tell me! Who would'nt want that!

In the end... Last resort..

Anyone noticed the size of that BIG MAC! is a double Large- I forgot what they called there already but notice how many burger meat in it~! and ya, there is only one size there! LARGE = REGULAR!

Soon after we ease our hunger, we headed off back to hotel to call the night off. However, we bounced into a street hawker stall selling something we won't get to see in malaysia, not that we cannot see or eat here but I would say it is a different way of preparing and consume the food >.< The stall

The preparation

The food~ haha... Taste rather weird!

The Night folded over for the Sleepy

Soon at 3am in the morning, we all headed back to the hotel and have our rest for our next day trip to Phang Nga Island, the so called “ James Bond Island “ >.<

p/s: next post – Day 2
