Cont'd from my Last Post

We opened the door gently hoping to have a peek on this little man, he was lying on his parent's bed peacefully without the care of the world.

Anxious to see him.

His father gently woke him up and carried him out to the living room. Introduction was made and the important news were, we are officially addressed as "Uncles" to this little man.

I guess he was anxious to see us too.

Apparently he was still in the mood of sleeping.

It took ages to make him smile, apparently our language does not make any senses to him and neither is our funny antics amused him so.

However, he still smiled at last =)

There's this shot when Jack tried, " Give me five!'.

His reaction was funny~

Cling onto his dad's shoulder tightly, we tried to play "peekaboo" with this little guy.

But in his case, ignorance works just fine.

We soon left the premises before the massive jam hits the highway. We say our goodbye to the little guy and promised we would drop by again someday.

Life is a gift, a gift from God.

Life like a Journey

A lot of people thought of life as a journey and it is a metaphor of Life in short.

Some may speaks of Life as a wheel. As for me, I would always put it as Life like a journey.

We can think of life's journey in lots of different ways. Starting from our life at younger stage where we experiences life is taking us to a destination with many adventures. Along the way, Life may felt like an ocean voyage on board on "Captain Jack Sparrow's Black Pearl" sailing across unknown seas where storms occasionally toss us about as we seek the safety of calm shores and treasures of unknown world.

As in the movie, Forest Gump, the character often says that, "Life is like a box chocolates. You never know what you will get." Take a chance and see what happens.

Life itself provide us a vision of the life process and help us to understand what is required for the essential tasks of psychological and spiritual growth.

What metaphors fit your life best?

Do they help you or cause problems and limit your choices?

It's possible to change, but it's not easy.

Last week, I visited a close friend. I always find his place peaceful and relaxing as I had visited him several times before but however, this time I had a sole purpose - to visit his first born child.

We had been best friend since our college time. From the day I knew him, we had been staying under the same roof for 4 years, going to church & having tons of fun together but not until he got married last year.

I'm glad to see him as he is today. Happy and as cheerful as always.

I would always remember the day when we finished studying late at night and three of us would have our usual tea break at the "Mamak Stall", we would always take a stroke at a small park near our house. All sort of topics would arise from our discussion.

From the smallest details to the biggest gossip that happens among the 16 person who live under the same roof as ours or we would discuss how could we help among us how to court that one girl that we liked individually. All sorts of topics were thrown out at each other. It was a never ending discussion.

The one and only topics that I remembered clearly till these days making no exception to the rest. It was the 'Big Question', "Who among us will be tying the knot first?"

Life is like a journey, fate doesn't controls where you should go and what you should do. Your Life is in your hand, just like a captain on a voyage sailing to open seas.

For me, GOD is my captain and I am the co-pilot. =)

"The Future Belongs To Those Who Believe In The Beauty Of Their Dreams"

What I did for Chinese New Year 08

Chinese New year 08 falls on the 7th of February, this year the festive celebration was kind of out of the ordinary because I had a friend's wedding to attend on the 3rd day of cny. This post will be a long one & please bear with me here cos..

This is one of those road trip that ONLY happens once in a lifetime.

"4th 1/2 mile Siao lung pao"

The morning kicked off around 7am when I received a message that one of the original crew that was suppose to follow us on the road trip ditched us last minute - "FLY KITES" -

Neitherless the plan still proceed as it was and so my mum send my friend & I to Ej's home (our rally point). The weather is kind of discouraging, it was raining heavily. The convoy to Sibu consist of me, Joseph, Ej & Adeline. Apparently three of us settled down nearby a coffee shop for breakfast while waiting for Adeline as usual (The same "Drama-Queen" is late as usual).

We hit the road approximately around 9am. The weather was cool and windy. It was pouring outside. We switched off the air-condition and opened our window to let the cool air inside. The whole trip lasted 5 hours to reach Sibu. We stopped by for mother nature calls & fuel etc.

Amazingly it was not as tiring as we thought it would be as we chatted all the way & we laughed out loud (LOL) none stop & 'THANK GOD!' without Ej hitting the E-brakes when Joseph jumped up when he saw a herd of "GU-sSs" (cows) by the road side.

The journey almost comes to it's destination with a massive jam before the bridge that linked to Sibu. The waiting & the queue was killing us. Everyone was impatience and started to come down from their vehicles and walked towards to what had caused the long crawl.

And "YA", thanks to Ej and his brilliant idea who asked Joseph & I to be one of those busybody. We walked nearly 1KM back & forth.

It was a sad scene when we found out what had caused the bad crawl.

There was a terrible accident involving two vehicles that crashed head on. Unfortunately, there was one casualty and a seriously wounded. It was a sad scene on the second day of chinese new year. I believe both were Chinese because we happens to notice lots of red packet (Ang Pao) scattered on the floor.

The terrible crawl lasted for an hour.

Joseph looking in from outside of the car

We soon arrived Sibu approximately in the afternoon around 3pm, we headed straight to have our late lunch at KFC. Apparently everywhere is a long queue especially the fast food outlets in town because most of the cafe is not opened during the festive season.

My stomach rumbling and my blood pressure rose high enough to coke oxygen from entering my brain when I saw 2 guys jumped queue. He acted like he owns the place. Fu yoh~

He turned around and said," Lu wu lighter bor?"("Do you have a lighter?"), the guy behind answered,"bor!"(I don't have). With an expression of disgust he replied back, "heh!, liaw liaw bor shin hu ke!"(Argh, Everyone doesn't smoke!).

I almost smacked his head on the spot. I just had one word for him, "bor dak che!"(Uneducated)

Finally right after our chicken meal, we head off to our Inn.

Unbelievable comfortable and superb price!

Eden Inn, Standard room for RM42.00 per night, Two king size bed with a bathroom attached, air conditioned & Television.

Just right after we settled down ourselves, Joseph started his habit of shooting everything at sight... hm.. I'm just anticipating the joy of photography so that's why you get to see lots of picture in this blog and this post =)

Joseph Teo in action

Here again, we never will missed out the SFW action of the day. It was like 7 years ago we actually did this kind of things together.

Before & after Joseph was dressed up with a toiletry by Ej and he was too hooked on with his camera that he didn't even noticed I was taking the shots and Ej was busying having fun.

Everyone was exhausted from the whole 5 hours trip, we freshened up & decided to take a short nap before going off for dinner tonight.

Just a month ago, we heard of the infamous "Personal friend" incident that hits our country. Here is our re make version of it. Sort of I guess.

"Bwhahahahaha... muahahaha... " was most of it.

Take 1:
Oh my gosh.. What have I done?

Take 2:
hmpf... switched position I guessed.. Like this or like that? Common! Stop moving too much!

Take 3:
It was all wrong, so we guessed that we ought to start off with some story line first before hitting the main stream. So we agreed, we started off with the touching the shoulders and leg over each other buttocks. I think we started to get the heat up.

Take 4:
We hit the road, the groping started but the struggling prevailed.
The story ends here.

No body were harmed during the production. Just two guys trying to reach for something special within.

Thanks for tuning to SFW.tv just another original production of some of the wackiest moment in life when you least expected it.

Back to our story. Day 1 ended up with movie late at night right after we shopped at one of the malls for toiletry and snacks & movies. Jamie was kind enough to borrow us her laptop for movies. The movie lasted about 2 hours and we end up in bed around 3am in the morning but thanks to Ej, we couldn't sleep not until 4am in the morning. Ah yes, we saw a mice taking a stroke in our room. That wraps up for Day 1 in Sibu, 2nd Day of CNY.

Day 3 of CNY - THE BIG DAY

The famous 'Kampua' of Sibu

We started off with something simple for breakfast as we are rushing for the wedding mass at 10am. Everyone woke up around 8am in the morning and had our breakfast around 9am.

Apparently everyone was still in the stage of blurred. Luckily we manage to find the church and we quickly settled down inside waiting for the mass to start. Joseph just couldn't stay still & with his camera strapped on his shoulder, he start snapping picture like there's no tomorrow.

The wedding mass started straight after the clocks turned 10am. It was definitely a beautiful sight indeed the atmosphere was filled with happiness and joy. Everyone rose up quickly to welcome the bride maid and the bride. The bride just look beautiful on her wedding day.

The mass proceed accordingly without further delay, the mass started with sermon from the pastor. I couldn't actually concentrate well during the sermon. I just managed to hear pieces here and there. I was distracted by the like of Joseph who are too engross in taking pictures non stop and eventually he sat just right behind me.

Soon after the sermon, the wedding ceremony reached it's peak when both bride and groom exchange their wedding vows =)

A traditional Catholic wedding vow would be of the following:

"I, ____, take you, ____, for my lawful wife/husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part."

A Methodist wedding vow would be of the following:

I, _____, take thee ____, to be my wife/husband, to have and to hold,
from this day forward, for better – for worse, for richer – for poorer,
in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part,
and thereto I pledge thee my faith.

Neither less, both represents a significant similarity which is "To love each other till death do us part." Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong =)

The exchange of wedding rings. Apparently while shooting this picture, I noticed that Yee Ting got a hard time on putting the wedding ring on her groom. That's a funny sight. She must had panicked and same goes for the groom when it was his turn. However, every gesture both of them made, I always noticed a broad smile on their faces.

Soon after that, the final blessing was conducted by the pastor for the newly wed. They humbled themselves and knelt down before the altar and received the final blessing from the pastor.

The Pastor said to the groom," Now you may KISS your bride." And I pronounce both of you Husband and Wife".

There was lighting of candles right after the wedding ceremony. Sorry the picture is a bit dark. No flash used.

The mass had ended, let us go in peace and to love and serve =) and happily ever after.

The story doesn't end here though.

The tossing of bouquet.

Next we proceed to the wedding reception. Kinda weird for me though cos this is the first time I attended a lunch wedding reception. The reception starts at 1230pm noon. We reached there early so we took a stroke around a nearby mall.

When the clocks ticked 1230pm noon, we hustled through the crowds to our designated tables. The restaurant consists of three floors which were all fully occupied for wedding reception that day. Apparently on that particular day was a good day for Chinese marriage which I believe so.

The reception started with a long wait... as usual Malaysian Time.

Someone was so eager to wait for the food to be served somehow trying to wipe of saliva from dropping from his mouth. hmppf...

Just before lunch is being served, camera was flashing non stop and same goes for me. Warning for the next few pictures will be in monochrome style of picture but I just love

monochrome picture. Maybe the age is catching up =)

Jamie & Ej

Gossiping non stop I guess??? =)

This shot was purposely taken to capture the pretty chick right behind Ej. I couldn't manage to capture the face though.

And there's this picture of Ej being shock and playing noob of the picture outcome he took with Jo's DSLR.

Adeline with her bling bling on her ears and as usual trying to attracts bees. BuraGU! (as in 'WHAT' in Korean).

What does the picture above tells? Oh my God, where's the food?
Or isn't just a simple Grace for the food or for the people who prepared it?

The food was served shortly. There's no picture of foods taken. In short, the food was decent. Feel free to browse www.halyconstudio.com/blog for more pictures - Joseph's blog.

It was 7 dishes in total if memory serves me correct. We was told this particular restaurant serves authentic 'Foochow' cuisine. We had a great time and thanks to Yee Ting for inviting us.

Sorry for the blurred image. These were the SMK Sungai Maong batch 2000 5sc1 group who attended the wedding. Congratulations upon your wedding, Sim Yee Ting. We wishes you the best of everything and all the best in all your future undertaking. Cheers~

Just right after the wedding reception, it was still early and it was only 3pm so we headed to the nearest park which was referred by Ej as the riverside of Sibu, "The Heritage Walk."

Swans statues stand guard all over Sibu as a symbol of its peace-loving people. Somehow you will get to see lots of swans statues all around Sibu. Not so sure what is really means. Why not you try to google it and let me know. haha~

Well, we just have our heavy lunch so we took a stroke around and is Ej & Jamie is kind enough to let me shoot them...

Here's a few of the outcome and I hope you all liked it:

Both Doctors to be couple =)

Ej never told me how he manage to seal the deal. I guess the following picture tells us much about the whole process what actually happened right after that..

The victory sign "V"

Anyone noticed it was a fake? Well, it is. =) but I love the outcome of the picture.

We finished the photo shoot around 4pm, we were dread tired. Sleepless night, thanks to Ej. We head back to our Inn to rest and freshen up for dinner. Ah well, it didn't ended up as we plan. While Adeline was asleep and Ej went visiting his future in-laws, Jo and I played 2 person UNO.

Oh ya, we ended being scolded by Adeline because...

The atmosphere was intense...

"Shiet!" I couldn't take it! I need to bath first before we continue!" claimed me.

The atmosphere was intense due to two heavily smelled body odor filled the entire room (jk)

With three cards still remands at hand, cold sweat begin to drip slowly down my cheeks, I was anxious and indecisive to throw which card bearing the thoughts that I might throw the wrong cards which favors Joseph.

A loud screech sound suddenly stunned me from center meters apart and nearly drew me deaf, "Draw 4!!! Yee HEEheeHee!!!", screamed Joseph with a devilish look.

"WEW!!!!", yelled from the bed across. Someone was annoyed by the screeching sound Joseph just made.

Ignoring the remake made, we continued our pursue for glory.

I looked at my cards and confidently draws...

"You are so screwed pal", as I threw another draw 4 which will total up to 8 cards that needs to be draw for him.

Enlighten by the card I threw. I noticed smirk expression on his face, he yelled on top of his voice and threw out a decisive card.

"Draw 4! & UNO!" yelled Joseph.

"Bwhahahahahahhaha! Now you are so screwed dude!" a provoking remake made by Joseph that stunned me to silent.

As I glanced slowly on the deck of cards at hand, I had only two cards remanding while he is on the other hand had only one left. As I know if I threw the wrong card means I would definitely lose. This is the decisive moment. To glory or perish is this card to decide.

I placed the decisive card out slowly. I know I would win this! I will wipe that smile from your face!

"UNO!" yelled me making it clear to Jo that I had my last card at hand. The sound of Jo's heart was pounding hard onto his chest like it was about to burst.

"WaHAHAHAHA! EeEyayayaGagagaGA! shouted Joseph while doing his karate kick towards me kicking me off the bed.

A pillow came flying our way shortly after the commotion made. Apparently Adeline couldn't take our nuisance anymore and shouted out loud at us.

Well, in the end we wrapped up the game without any winner and we rested for a while as we wait for Ej to pick us up for dinner.

Give a guess what was the decisive card that I threw out at last?
It was the fourth Draw 4 card. Total 16 cards needs to draw for Joseph.

At Syabu Syabu where steam are everywhere.

We had our dinner approximately around 8pm, we visited the Cyber while waiting for available seats is this restaurant called "SYABU SYABU." It's a steamboat restaurant and the uniqueness of this restaurant is that you get to have you own pot to steam your desire food at the correct amount for your own consumption. It was worth every single sen. We enjoyed our dinner.

Good eh~!

chop~ chop~

Argh~ It is so fulfilling

We rounded day 2 all exhausted and went to bed as early as we can. 1am in the morning. =)

DAY 3 - HOME SWEET HOME

Well, that's the expression of a driver who just laughed too much during the road trip. Apparently I guess he is having stomach discomfort after all the laughter he got from the crazy antic generated from the passengers behind.

The whole trip was like driving two kids behind asking daddy to play two different CD's. The Barney songs or the whatsoever. For this case, it was GOO goo Dolls, Track 13 for 4 times and the other was Boyzone please... hmppf..

And of cos every road trip we have this kind of incident happens.

I guess sight seeing is a must for emergency...

Opps~ watch your steps!!!

On our way back, we witnessed another accident. This time the crawl wasn't as bad as before. Just a short crawl. We saw a car plunged down into the drain.

On our way, we managed to visit Mount Hosanna Chapel. It was a relieved that the Chapel was opened on that particular day but the weather is not really good.

We stopped by for a while since it had been ages we visited the place. It was kind of hard to imagine that it was 9 years back since my last visit.

I'm glad and relieve to be stepping my feet on Mount Hosanna soil again after so many years which brings back fond memories of younger days.

We reached back home individually around 6pm. Exhausted but worth it.

I think I'll stop here. It had been a rather long post. I'll wrap up this post just like that. There's more to be shared during this road trip which I wouldn't be mentioning in this post. It will take ages to finish. Again, I would like to say this again.

This is one of those road trip that ONLY happens once in a lifetime.

Thanks for reading. This wrap up my CNY 2008.
